Georgia POST has as part of its mission statement, “To provide the citizens of Georgia with qualified, professionally trained, ethical, and competent peace officers and criminal justice professionals.” Our staff works every day to further that goal. We are providing updates on some of the items that the POST Council voted on September 23, 2025.
Changes to four key areas were voted on and approved at the Council meeting.
- Approved updates to the Georgia POST Career Development Certifications
- Standard Operating Procedure Governing POST Probation Cases
- Approval of the Departmental Police Academy for the Cobb County Sheriff’s Department
- Updated Curriculum for the Basic Law Enforcement Training Course
